Family Farewell Dinner

We decided to go out as a family for a "Faulkner Farewell" Dinner. Since Robert and I love El Torito we decided to go there. Since I am trying to be better at taking pictures I brought my camera. I wasn't really planing on turning the pictures into a blog, but they are too cute not to share (of course all but one have Gabe in them).

Gabe wanted to make silly faces
So we made silly faces together.

Then he wanted to make silly faces with Robert

My food. It was delicious. But I filled up pretty good on the
tortilla chips so I ate the rest of it for lunch the next day,

I love this silly kid.
It was a great time with my family. It is going to be hard to leave them but I know that there will be much visiting time to be had. Absence makes the heart grow fonder...right??

Kristine's Baby Shower (Part 2)

On Saturday April 14th we had Kristine's baby shower at my mom's house. Since there were going to be quite a few decorations and furniture to be moved Robert, Shellie (my friend who was visiting) and myself went over on Friday to start on the moving/decorating. Then Saturday morning Robert and I came back and finished the preparations. Below are some of the pictures I took of the decorations. The shower went great and everyone seemed to have fun. (I forgot to take pictures of the food table and the cupcakes. The cupcakes were chocolate with green 'grass' frosting and a butterfly and vanilla with blue 'sky' frosting with a butterfly. Jessica decorated the cupcakes)
This was the entry table when you first walked in.
This is the chandelier that is right above you when you walk in.

The mantle. Covered in butterflies, tissue pom poms, flower pots, a butterfly net
and of course a BABY ZOE banner (complete with butterflies and flowers)

One of the side tables.

The lamp with a yellow pom pom and butterflies (it is side ways)

Zoe's piggy bank. We used it to play a game.

Easter

This year for Easter we did things a little differently. Saturday night we went to Kristine and Anthony's to dye eggs and have pizza for dinner. Gabe was very impatient to dye eggs, but eventually we all finished eating dinner and it was time to dye eggs.
Robert wanted to dye eggs with Gabe so we brought some extra over. Robert takes his dying eggs very serious and was in deep concentration while making his creations. Meanwhile Gabe just liked dropping the eggs into the cups, and causing the dye to splash.

Gabe didn't want pizza for dinner. Instead he wanted an egg.
And proceeded to stuff half of it in his mouth.

Easter Sunday the family came over to our house for Easter dinner. Of course we did the egg hunt while dinner was being cooked. I confess that Gabe found the first half of the eggs within a few minutes. But I had a few tricky ones that took a bit longer. Including one in the tree (which I knew he couldn't reach).
He did try to get it.
And the finished result. Very excited for his eggs.

Overall it was a wonderful time with the family. It was our "last holiday" together before we move. Just a friendly reminder on how much I am going to miss my family when we move.
