All in a Weekend's Work

This past weekend was extremely crazy hectic but extremely productive. I had an opportunity at the last minute to go up and look for housing which was an enormous blessing. After looking at a few places on Thursday I was slightly bummed because none of them had what I wanted. They were all nice places and would have suited us fine...but they didn't feel right. Friday morning I had two more places to look at and then behold I found the place. Of course my friend Shellie had to talk me through it so I would accept the fact that I found the place that I wanted, and then Robert also had to talk me through it. But I feel great about the place. I think the fact that we found a place kind of has me freaked it. It makes the move more final (and scary). Funny thing about the apartment....it was the very first place I found on craigslist. Here are some pics of it (obviously non of the furniture is ours since we haven't moved yet).
Here is the kitchen. With lots of cupboards, which we need.

This is the living room when you walk in the door. This will most likely end up being the "greeting room" and "library".

And my favorite room so far. The Loft. It is bigger than it appears in the picture and it has a room off to the side that is perfect for the office. That will be our family room with our couches and TV.

The apartment has two bedrooms and two bathrooms,  a washer/dryer, and plenty of storage (another must for me).
Needless to say the trip was a success. But even better...I got to hang out with Shellie for two days and to see my great friend Liz (actually I surprised her). It was great being with friends. It gets me even more excited to move to Utah.
And of course another highlight of the trip...I got to eat at BAJIO!! Yum. Yum.

From Utah, I flew home Friday night (got home finally close to midnight).
Saturday was another productive day. The Honda Fit is sold and gone! Another huge relief.

We were able to get more than we thought we would for it which was a blessing and since we sold it to CarMax they handled all the DMV paperwork which took a pile of work off my plate. I will miss the car since I liked it's features and the roominess of the car. But it was for the best. My car is paid off, is cheaper to maintain, and will do better in the snow. So today I saw good-bye Honda Fit. You will be missed....a little bit.

  1. Congrats on the productive weekend! I'm curious what area your new place is in... It looks super nice!

  2. It actually is two blocks behind provo library and a few blocks south of campus. It is a little bit more than we wanted to pay for an apt, but it had everything we wanted plus a great location.
